“Art reconciles who I am by engaging who is He.”
Irene Wong is a Singapore-based visual artist renowned for her prophetic art, which blends spiritual inspiration with painting to interpret biblical scriptures and divine messages. Her work emphasizes faith, imagination, and the interplay between the natural, social, and spiritual realms, viewing art as a foundational element of life that fosters personal growth and divine connection.
Biography and Background

Born and based in Singapore, Irene Wong’s artistic journey began after a transformative personal experience in 1998, when she was diagnosed with cancer and underwent major surgery. She attributes her recovery to miraculous healings and encounters with God, which deepened her Christian faith and led her to commit to following Christ. Prior to her art career, Irene spent over 20 years in fashion merchandising within the fast-fashion industry, gaining extensive experience in global markets. However, she felt an inner void and a calling to express her true self through art. She resigned from her corporate role to pursue painting full-time, producing around 60 scriptural and prophetic pieces in her first year alone. This marked the start of her focus on prophetic art, where she spent time between the Bible and her canvas to build her skills, faith, and perseverance.
Career Transition and Development

Irene’s shift from merchandising to artistry was unplanned but driven by a persistent desire for authenticity. Starting without prior experience, she overcame challenges through self-directed learning, with God as her primary mentor in prophetic art—a niche field that was rare and isolating when she began over 18 years ago. She has since created over 100 commissioned personal prophetic paintings and uses her platform to encourage emerging prophetic artists by sharing her experiences.
Artistic Style

Irene works primarily in acrylics, oils, pastels, and watercolors, often creating pieces live or in response to spiritual prompts. Her style is expressive and vibrant, focusing on visual interpretations of scriptures to reveal “God’s heartbeat.” She emphasizes the prophetic dimension, where art serves as a medium for divine revelation, reconciliation of identity, and spiritual engagement. Her paintings are not merely aesthetic but aim to intertwine humanity’s worlds into a “tapestry,” promoting determination and the exploration of God-given potential.
