Jesus came not only to redeem us, He also came to reveal the Father;  returning us to our first love.

When Adam and Eve ate from the Tree of Good and Evil, their glory fell. The Spirit of God left them exposing their soul and body. They became aware of their nakedness. Their guilt and shame hid them behind some trees.

God asked Adam and Eve : “Where are you?” From an all knowing God, this question seemed strange. But God was actually not questioning their location but rhetorically questioning their position with God. Adam and Eve had lost their heavenly position and inheritance as sons of God.

The second question God asked “Who told you that you were naked?” Again this question was rhetoric. ‘Who told you’ pointed the relationship God had with Adam and Eve was now broken.

Jesus was born of Spirit into the flesh as a mediator between Heaven and earth. He is fully God and fully man. He came to redeem and restore what was lost in the garden.

  1. He came to redeem our position as co-heirs and as sons of God by His blood.
  2. He came to restore the love relationship of the Father with His children through His Righteousness.

God is preparing us the church to know our identity in Christ for His second coming. Are we ready :

Where are you?    Who told you?
