I was introduced to prophetic art when Theresa Dedmon was invited to COOS in ? (cannot remember the year… before 2009). I enjoyed her teaching very much… especially the part where we were led to go out into the streets to find our ‘treasure’ with our drawings.
I did not pursue this prophetic art as I was still busy working in the corporate world. The prophetic art area remained dormant until a friend Gwendolyn kickstarted my prophetic painting journey. She requested a prophetic painting as a gift for her friend, she gave just her name for my reference and for me to seek God.That was my first and I have no idea how to go about it. As time passed, I received a vision of a little girl with a rainbow over her. I named it ‘bridge builder’. When I almost finished the painting, I saw another vision: it was an adult woman with the rainbow, not a little girl. I thought I have it wrong the 1st time and was prepared to paint a new one. I painted the adult woman with the rainbow and called it ‘the planting of the Lord’. Out of my own selfishness, I decided not to throw away the 1st painting but joined both of them and titled the artwork as ‘’The Journey’’.
2 weeks after I passed the painting to my friend Gwen, she called me to share her friend’s reaction to the painting. She shared several things …. the part that impacted me most was how God had actually taught and prepared me for the prophetic art journey going forward : the friend recalled a elderly couple prayed for her some time ago. The elderly woman saw a little girl with a rainbow while praying for her! The elderly man shared he saw an adult woman with a rainbow instread!! It was a double bingo for me… out of my own selfishness I did not want to throw the 1st painting yet God used them both! I was so encouraged! I have learned to set aside my fear and doubts knowing God will do the rest. After this, I started to receive requests for personal prophetic paintings from people I have never met. It was through word of mouth that this journey has continued till today. I have painted many prophetic art for people and many have become close friends since then.
