Courage vs Tolerance

The test of courage comes when we are in the minority. The test of tolerance comes when we are in the majority.

Acrylics on canvas (12×12 inches)

The test of courage is truly evident when we find ourselves in the minority, surrounded by opposing opinions and beliefs. It takes great strength to stand firm in our convictions, to challenge the status quo. (Ralph W. Sockman)

The Elephant in the room

The phrase refers to a problem or issue that
is conspicuous yet deliberately ignored
because it is socially uncomfortable,
controversial, or embarrassing.
It is metaphorical, as no literal elephant is
present, but the imagery emphasizes the
size and obviousness of the issue.

So what is your elephant?

Acrylics on canvas (12×12 inches)

The earliest known conceptual origin comes from
Russian poet and fabulist Ivan Krylov, who
in 1814 wrote a fable titled ‘The Inquisitive Man’. In
this story, a man visits a museum, notices many
small details, but fails to see the giant elephant on
display, illustrating the human tendency to overlook the obvious.
