The Big Shofar
Egypt, Assyria, Israel are the Decendants of Abraham
Israel
– from Sarah (wife of Abraham) became the decendants of Israel (settled in Israel)
Egypt
– from Haggar (another wife of Abraham) became the decendants of Egypt (exiled during Israel famine and settled in Egypt)
Assyria
– from Keturah (another wife of Abraham) became the decendants of Assyria (exiled during Babylonian times after the destruction of the 2nd temple and settled mostly in part of modern day Iraq, Kuwait, Syria, Turkey, Lebanon, Iran)
This painting is my ‘firsts’ in my art journey.
When I was in the overnight prayer on 31 Dec 2007 praying for the coming new year 2008, I felt something touched my feet. When I looked down, I saw a big shofar about double arms length (in my vision) on the floor. I picked it up and raised it up in my worship (still in my vision). After this encounter, this vision of ‘big shofar’ became embedded in my heart ever since. I decided to paint it out after leaving my job in 2008. It is my 1st painting painted for my art journey.
Why such a big shofar? I researched and found the big shofar or grand shofar is actually a Call for the redemption of God’s people for the decendants Abraham.
The big/grand shofar has always been the heartbeat of Yahweh throughout the bible. It will be blown when God reveals Himself during the time of the ultimate redemption (the last days) :
“God will appear to them, His arrow will go forth like lightning, and God will blow the shofar”
(Zechariah 9:14)
The significance of the ‘big’ or ‘Grand’ shofar is written:
On that day a big shofar will be blown and those that were lost in Ashur, and those that were pushed off in Egypt will come, and they will bow to God on the holy mountain in Jerusalem”
(Yeshayahu 27:13… from the Book of Tanakh)
So it shall be in that day:
The great trumpet will be blown;
They will come, who are about to perish in the land of Assyria,
And they who are outcasts in the land of Egypt,
And shall worship the Lord in the holy mount at Jerusalem.
(Isaiah 27:13 New King James version)
Lawlessness has become rampant and it has worsen after 7 Oct 2023. It makes one wonder whether the big shofar is indeed very near.

23 In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian will come into Egypt and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians will serve with the Assyrians. 24 In that day Israel will be one of three with Egypt and Assyria—a blessing in the midst of the land, 25 whom the Lord of hosts shall bless, saying, “Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance.”
