The Four Living Creatures, also known as the Four Beasts or Tetramorphs, are among the most mysterious and majestic beings described in the Bible. They appear in the visions of the prophet Ezekiel and in the book of Revelation, where they are seen surrounding the throne of God in Heaven.
Each of the Four Living Creatures has four different faces:
Lion represents majesty, strength, or kingship.
Ox represents strength, service, or sacrifice.
Man represents intelligence, reason, or humanity.
Eagle represents swiftness, vision from on high, or divinity.
They move with great speed, like flashes of lightning, and are often associated with burning coals of fire. Their constant cry is, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.”
Collectively, they symbolize all of creation praising the Creator, or aspects of Christ’s character as revealed in the four Gospels.

The Connection Between the Four Living Creatures and the Cherubim
The Four Living Creatures described in Ezekiel and Revelation are very closely connected to the Cherubim — in fact, many scholars and prophetic teachers believe they are the same order of angelic beings, or at least belong to the same high-ranking class.
