I heard the Roar

It is finished ‘I heard the Roar’ 27.12.2018
25 Dec 2018

When I was about to prepare for Christmas after BE exhibition, I was down with ‘dizziness’and ended up lying down most of the time and have to move/turn slowly in my daily chores to avoid falling. I missed all my Christmas preparations but fortunately got better and was able to gather with family for Christmas eve celebration. Thank You Jesus.

There are so many things I need to do before end of 2018 but guess I have to put aside for time being until I am physically empowered to carry out the tasks. This has left me loads of time to rest and think about what God is preparing us to walk as we enter into the new year 2019.

Dream is a common way God used to speak and reveal to me. I had many dreams for the past few weeks… many are strange… many I have yet to understand. This morning I had one and I knew it is something significant for 2019, so I decided to paint it. In the dream there were many clusters of Christians gathered according to their unique gifts God had given them. I was put in a group that had our gift related to ‘lion’. There were many people in this group. I could not physically see them but I could sense their presence. We were put together in an womb-like enclosure. Every group had their turn to respond to a call. When it was time for the ‘lion’ group to respond, it gave out a singular lion roar. The sound of the ‘roar’ was steady and loud and it came not from the people but rather from within the womb itself (I could even feel something within me vibrated as the roar sounded). Some other groups could not hear the roar but some groups did. Certain groups who heard the roar celebrated but some were offended by the roar complaining it was a loud boastful display. The dream ended here.

I woke up with a roar within me…. I understood that God is birthing groups of people with different gifts to come together to rise up in 2019. God will be very intentional and loud about our gifts in coming year 2019. Some people will celebrate, some will be offended. For those who are in the ‘lion’ group shall know their call when they hear the ‘roar’ from within. What is the call? God will soon reveal as we enter into 2019.

Let those who have ears hear the the roar !

Will I paint and write differently after 10 years of doing this painting?

It has been 10 years since I last painted this painting. I do not have the desire to repaint again but some thoughts do cross my mind looking at the painting now.

The bible did not say three wise men ‘Magi’ but wise men with 3 gifts :
gold, frankincense and myrrh. Gold represents grandeur, wealth, glory. Frankincense represents worship, protection. Myrrh presents purity, anointing and death. No wonder the men who brought the gifts are called ‘wise men’. They seemed to have received the understanding of who Jesus was and why He came to earth.

Magi means a group of magicians. The Greeks may have gained their root word for magic from root word MAGH (meaning to be able, to have the power to act.) . Christians do not like to associate with the word ‘magic’. We called them ‘miracles’. We associate ‘magic’ from the dark side while ‘miracles’ from the light. Just like the word ‘mystical’ a word we often keep away but rather we celebrate the word ‘supernatural’.
The choice of words is often based not on our understanding of the meaning but rather the cultural response we may get from the people we talk to.

Is Christ birth magical? Absolutely !

Is Jesus magical? Hmmm…. that depends who I am speaking to.
